Four of Cups

In shortSomething is being offered and you cannot feel it.

Upright

This is flatness — not from disaster, but from having enough and still wanting something else. Boredom, mild depression, the sense that nothing quite registers. It is a real state and it is also blinding you to something that is being offered right now.

Reversed

re-engagementaccepting the offeremerging from a slumpnew interest

You look up. The flatness lifts, the offer finally gets noticed, interest comes back. This usually accompanies the small shift that ends a slump — not a revelation, just re-engagement. Occasionally it warns of accepting something out of restlessness rather than actual wanting.

In the pictureHe sits under a tree, arms folded, staring at three cups on the ground; a hand from a cloud offers a fourth, which he does not see. His arms and legs are both crossed — closed on every axis.

The turn

Look up from the three cups. Something is being offered that you have not registered.
