There is something here you cannot work out by thinking harder about it. The High Priestess shows up when the honest answer is "not yet clear" — and when forcing an answer now would give you the wrong one. This is a card for waiting, sleeping on it, and paying attention to the sense you get rather than the argument you can make. Something is being kept back, sometimes by circumstances and sometimes by you, and that is doing useful work for now.

This is the instinct you talked yourself out of. You knew something, and you found reasons not to know it, usually because knowing it was inconvenient.
